SCIENCE CLUB

Here are some of the exciting Projects made by the Scientists of Science Club in Cadet College Kohat.

Wind Turbine Electricity Generation

A wind turbine is a device that converts the kinetic energy of wind into electrical energy. Hundreds of thousands of large turbines, in installations known as wind farms, now generate over 650 gigawatts of power, with 60 GW added each year.[1] Wind turbines are an increasingly important source of intermittent renewable energy, and are used in many countries to lower energy costs and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

Charcoal Water Purification System

Water filters use a special type of charcoal known as "activated charcoal" to purify water. Activated charcoal works through the process of adsorption. Note that adsorption is different to absorption. Adsorption binds impurities chemically on the surface of the charcoal filter rather than physically absorbing them.

Neuro Muscular System

The neuro muscular system includes all the muscles in the body and the nerves serving them. Every movement the body makes requires communication between the brain and the muscles. The nervous system provides the link between thoughts and actions by relaying messages from the brain to other parts of the body.

Hydroelectric Power Station

A hydroelectric generating station is a plant that produces electricity by using water to propel the turbines, which, in turn, drive the generators. These power stations generate about a quarter of all the electricity used in the world.

Human Skin

Skin structure: It has three main layers, the epidermis, the dermis and the subcutaneous layer. The epidermis is an elastic layer on the outside that is continually being regenerated. It includes the following: Keratinocytes - the main cells of the epidermis formed by cell division at its base.

Astronomy Research Center

The Astronomy Research Centre (ARC) at the University of Victoria brings together world-renowned researchers in astrophysics, engineering, computation, and instrumentation working in or near Victoria, BC.

Tree Age

A tree's age can be determined by counting the number of rings, which is how scientists date trees. The number of rings on a tree varies by species and location, so it's important to know what kind of trees you're working with when estimating their age.

Fire Alarm

A fire alarm system warns people when smoke, fire, carbon monoxide or other fire-related or general notification emergencies are detected.
